I was thinking to express Diwali in only five words and I came up with these: Sweets, Rangoli, Pooja, Candles and Firecrackers. However, I realized that though it expresses our happiness, they are not the true meaning of Diwali. So the question is what is the true essence of this festival? I don't want to go on telling traditional stories but on a deeper level, it signifies the light which dispels the darkness of ignorance. This spiritual light should penetrate our souls to empty anger, depression and hurt and restore calm, happiness and fulfillment. So, this Diwali not only illuminate your home but also your inner self and soul. :-)
